Sorry I haven’t posted recently, but I’ve been crazy busy and will resume regular posting after my trip this weekend. I wanted to update my readers on a big topic going on in the SEO field. I’m not going to chime in yet on my view, since the information is still hit or miss. This week at SMX Advanced, Matt Cutts dropped a huge comment about how PR works and flows through a site. This comment was about PR sculpting, which is an advance SEO technique, but I know a few of you here use it.
Basically, PageRank will now “evaporate”.
Nobody has cleared anything up yet, but you should take the time to read over these posts and get caught up on the issue.
More new posts to come when I get back =)

I don’t think PR actually has that much of an impact on search engine rankings anyway. IT just seems to be a way for people to make money.
Well visible PR, I’d agree completely. In this situation I’m thinking of it more as “link juice” / passable PR. The raw value that is passed through links.
Its always been seen as something that “flows”, so you could blog it with a nofollow and force it to flow into another page.
Now it seems like Google may treat it differently
At least, pr is good for checking how serious of our competitors.
PR will Evaporate? It’ll be great if you could explain mor ein detail
Thanks
Sandeep
Yes, I’ll put together a post. I was holding off on an official statement from Google, but there doesn’t seem to be one coming. So its still something I’m not “sure” about. I’d be happy to post about what I “believe” it to be though.
Justin – if this is the case, how can we change our WP themes? I’m currently using your Zombie sniper and Gizz themes and I believe you’ve no followed parts of them to sculpt PR correct?
Didn’t even think about this.
You’re right. I’ll go change that on them. I’ll do a post when the new ones are up
